Cody's was a watering hole mainstay for me in the late 1980's as I finished college and pursued alcoholism on serious level. At a glance, Cody's hasn't changed since that time (except for adhering to the Springfield city wide ban against indoor smoking). The decor, the food, the patrons....all have remained exactly as I remembered from 1985. Dark and cold as a cave, hirsute and tattoed customers mix and mingle with college kids, families, and an always interesting revolving door of waitresses and bartenders. The huge greasy burgers and oil-oozing fries, continue to draw crowds, and the cheap and cold tap beer, keep them playing pool and discussing a variety of topics that generally seem of much greater weight to the beer soaked minds of the conversant parties. Cody's is a great place to visit, but I'm grateful I no longer have the desire to remain here.

The food is amazing! Has never failed me, I always leave full, and satisfied. However, the service has always been sketchy at best. Went there tonight and asked the waitress some questions about what they had available at the bar and she had no idea what I was even talking about, even though what I was asking for is fairly popular and in most bar/restuarants. On top of that, she was extremely rude and hateful. It felt like we were a waste of her time. She didn't know what she was doing, wouldn't offer to find out, and clearly had no customer service skills whatsoever. The next time I go, I will absolutely ask for a different waitress.

Great little hole in the wall bar with ice cold beer and great burgers. And I mean great. Can't wait to get back to try more of their menu.

The waitress kept ignoring us but was pleasant enough when she spoke to us. The burger was good. Good flavor but not worth the price. It's a little hole in the wall bar and food place.

Great food reasonably price. The staff was helpful an very professional.... Great place all around...
